Library Exhibitions

The University Libraries maintain multiple galleries and exhibition spaces that support the teaching, research, and outreach mission of the libraries, reaching a broad audience of students, faculty, staff, and public viewers.

Galleries

  • Fenwick Gallery

Fenwick Gallery is a space for artistic inquiry within Fenwick Library, supporting the arts community at George Mason University and beyond. We work with artists to create original exhibitions that value questions as much as answers.

Visit fenwickgallery.gmu.edu or contact Stephanie Grimm, Art and Exhibitions Librarian and Fenwick Gallery Manager, with questions.

  • Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) Gallery

The SCRC Gallery features exhibitions curated by staff that interpret, highlight, and advance dialogue around the materials and collecting areas represented in SCRC's collections.

  • Mason Square Library

Mason Square Library currently houses two semi-permanent displays of materials curated by Mason Exhibitions staff, featuring works drawn from the University Art Collections' significant holdings of African Art (in dialogue with the library's Paden Collection), as well as materials chosen to encourage reflection and contemplation.

MSL provides a limited range of spaces for displaying other artworks and other visual/creative research outputs. Contact Jenny Meslener, MSL Director, with questions.
